Cramps

What is cramps?

Unpleasant, often painful sensations, usually of muscles.

Causes

  • Cold or overexertion.
  • Illness.
  • Lack of salt and water (electrolyte disturbance)
  • Hypothyroidism.

Remedy (Nuskhe)

  • Apply clove oil (laung ka tel) on the affected parts.
  • Eating foods high in potassium, such as bananas, prunes and potatoes.
  • Soft massage on the cramped muscle, stretching the muscle and dipping the part in hot water to which some salt has been added.  Heat improves superficial blood circulation and makes muscle more flexible.
