Depression

What is depression?

Inability to cope with changed circumstances.

Causes

Sudden loss, unwanted change of environment.

Symptoms

Loss of appetite, general disinterest, headache, bodyache.

Remedy (Nuskhe)

  • Boil ¼ teaspoon powdered cardamom (chhoti ilaichi) seeds in thin tea water and drink.
  • Mix 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg (jaiphal) powder with 1 tablespoon freshly extracted amla juice.  Take 3 times a day.
  • Banana contains serotonin, a neurotransmitter that makes nerve contact possible.  Lack of serotonin in the brain can result in depression and suicidal tendencies.  Thus banana is a very important fruit in your daily diet.
  • Watermelon consumption on a regular basis benefits people who are suffering from depression or who are prone to depression.
