What is ulcer?

Ulcers are wounds that develop on the mucous membranes.  When ulcers affect the gastrointestinal tract, they are called peptic ulcers.

Causes

  • Hyperacidity due to heavy meals, highly spiced foods, coffee, alcohol and smoking.
  • Bacterial infection.
  • Stress and other psychological factors.
  • Worsened by certain drugs.

Symptoms

Abdominal pain, bloating and abdominal fullness, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite and weight loss.

Remedy (Nuskhe)

  • Having tea made with fenugreek seeds (methi daana).
  • Eating bananas or having banana shake twice a day.
  • A glass of goat's milk taken twice daily.
  • Having milk prepared from blanched almonds.
