This herb originated in Asia and is used extensively in the traditional Indian medicine known as Ayurveda. The plant is very aromatic and is a popular ingredient in cookery, particularly Italian dishes.
May cause irritation to sensitive skin so always use well-diluted. Not to be used during pregnancy.
Steam distillation of the leaves and flowering tops.
