ROSE (ROSA CENTIFOLIA / ROSA DAMASCENA)

Effects: Comforting.

Aroma: Base/middle tone.

We are all familiar with this beautiful plant. Roses are cultivated in Bulgaria, Turkey and Morocco. It is one of the most useful essential oils but unfortunately it is extremely expensive. Distillation of roses originated many years ago in ancient Persia.

Properties: 

  • Antidepressant.
  • Antiseptic.
  • Antispasmodic. 
  • Astringent.
  • Diuretic.
  • Sedative.
  • Antibacterial.

Contra-indications:
Avoid using rose during the early stages of pregnancy.

Extraction:
Distillation of the flower petals.

Uses:

  • Headache.
  • Sore throat. 
  • Insomnia.
  • Depression. 

Rose water is used extensively in skin care.

Massage with the blended oil will help depression, pre-menstrual tension and regulation of the menstrual cycle.

It has a beneficial effect on mature, dry and sensitive skins as well as broken thread veins.
