This tree grows in southern Europe, the Orient and North America. Cedarwood gum was used by the Egyptians many years ago as an important ingredient in the mummifying process.
Properties:

Contra-indications:
May irritate sensitive skins. Do not use during pregnancy.
Extraction:
Steam distillation of the wood as well as the sawdust.
Uses:
- Bronchitis.
- Nervous tension.
- Cellulite.
- Cystitis.
- Certain skin conditions such as eczema.
Cedarwood is good for acne, and oily skin and when blended with rosemary and eucalyptus is used as a treatment for dandruff. It has a calming effect on the nervous system. May be helpful for arthritic and rheumatic pains.
