This herb has yellow flowers and originates from Spain and Eastern Europe. It belongs to the carrot family.
Properties:
- Antiseptic.
- Anti-spasmodic.
- Diuretic.
- Stimulant.
Contra-indications:
May irritate sensitive skins. Do not use in pregnancy or with epilepsy sufferers.

Steam distillation of the seeds.
Uses:
- Indigestion.
- Flatulence.
- Nervous tension.
Its diuretic properties make fennel helpful in the treatment of gout, particularly when combined with juniper.
Useful in digestive problems such as constipation and flatulence. (fennel tea helps colic and diarrhoea.)
Scent: Sweet and earthy.
Combines with:
- Geranium.
- Lavender.
- Sandalwood.
